Do you use crates?

Yes we use crates, but the pet is only in them for a small amount of time while waiting for pick up or while we are with another customer. We have calming natural scents, flame-less candles, and low soft music all to create the calming spa atmosphere, so you don't have to worry about your pet. If your pet acts up in a crate we can try an external pen or a leash.

Are pets left unattended on the table or allowed to jump?

No, pets are not allowed to jump. We have a hydraulic table for all dogs, and also a low tub if needed. Pets are not left on table alone as it is very dangerous. Pets are attached with a grooming loop and a front leash to avoid slipping off of the table.

What if I need to cancel?

With people's busy lives, it is easy to forget, and some people make their appointments right after their pets last grooming (which is recommended), so we will do a call reminder the day before your pets appointment. Please be considerate if you have to cancel. Try to give at least two days notice.

How can I pay?

We currently accept cash or cheque.

What are your hours?

We don't have set hours since all grooming and same day nail appointments are by appointment only. Weekends are available on request and fill up fast as we feel the weekends should be family time.

What about holidays?

We believe holidays are a time to spend with loved ones, so all major holidays we will be closed. There is a small chance that there may be some openings on these days but contact us in advance to check availability.

How often should I have my dog groomed?

For the hand scissor trims between 4-7 weeks is a must (any good groomer will let you know what is best and pre-booking is highly recommended). Blade length clip down type dogs should be done between 4-8 weeks (some dogs can make it for 3 months, but it is advised to not go much longer, as the coat starts to mat and can cause skin problems).

Do I need an appointment?

Yes, and to avoid any disappointment please try to book well ahead.

What products do you use?

We use an all natural shampoo, that caters to different dog's skin and coat types. We feel this gives the best finished result, and is also good for your pet, the groomer and the environment. We also use all natural cleaners daily. To maintain a high standard of sanitation we do have an environmentally safe disinfectant to clean the kennels. We also use calming natural scented oils to help with some stress issues of pets.

Is it O.K. to feed my dog before bringing him for dog grooming?

It is recommended that you do not feed him or her before the grooming (your pet will be ok until they get home). On making appointment we also need to know if your dog has any allergies.

My dog can be aggressive. Will you groom my pet?

We try to do our best and will give your pet a chance. We can use a muzzle to prevent nipping and biting, but we do not sedate animals. If your pet is that aggressive then you can get your pet groomed at a vet. We have several vets in the different areas we can give you a referral for if you would like.

How can I get my aggressive pet groomed?

If we give your pet a try, and feel that we might be able to do it with a pill calmer (that you will have to get from your vet), we will re-book for another day. We will not work on a sedated animal, as this needs to be done at a vet. Another option is to try a mobile groomer that comes to your house. If your dog is aggressive or a screaming/barking dog, we might recommend that you go elsewhere, as we may have children around and don't want them scared. There is a biting dog fee.

Does my dog or cat need to be current on its vaccinations before being groomed?

We do not require vaccinations but do recommend them for your dogs safety. Also a spot on treatment on a regular basis is a good idea. We regularly clean and disinfect the facility and equipment to prevent spreading of anything.

How long does the grooming process take?

Usually between 2-3 hours, but we do not like to be rushed and we want your pet to feel at home with the grooming. We will give you an estimate at drop off time. You shouldn't need to feel that your pet is being rushed as this salon, and we are sure your pet will appreciate their spa day. They are usually calmer in a quiet, more relaxed setting. We sometimes will work on another pet to give yours a break as well to help keep them nice and relaxed. An express groom is available on request, but for a fee and needs to be stated on booking the date.

Do the groomers and bathers get tips?

This is a service business. We provide a service like the waitress or waiter and hair dresser. A tip is always appreciated, but if a gratuity is not in your budget then of course a sincere compliment, or recommending us to your friends that have animals is always greatly appreciated.
